If you are intent on changing your exhaust change to a 2.5 inch bore mongoose system with 3.5 or 4 inch tailpipe, for a few added ponys and a great sound on idle and on boost

I think you will find you are wrong there mate, as there have been numerous discussions on here about scorpion exhausts after people's cars have been taken to tuners to be rolling roaded etc and more than 1 tuner has turned round and said your exhaust is restrictive and it turns out the exhaust has been scorpion on more than 1 occasion!!!!!

There's a clear restriction in Scorpion backboxes, bore drops up to half an inch IIRC...

we all know the pipe is smaller on the back box. but i never had any trouble on my scorpion what so ever and it was not restrictive in any way shape or form to slow my car down thats a fact. its only a fact on the likes of tt c&b tim and oilles cars they needed bigger bore of 2.5 to 3" as all of them cars are over 300bhp

so if you want to prove me wrong please do

if u hear a scorpion on full chat u can hear the restriction if u know what ur listenin for.
if you have a backbox the same diameter as a std exahust then how can u say its not restrictive when the std exahust is when upping power.by having a bigger bore your gettin rid of exhaust gases quicker and spinning the turbo up faster.simple science.for 300hp id recommend a 3" bore as then the 2.5 may start being restrictive.

Did you do any power runs with a different exhaust? nothing is fact without comparison so YES it was restrictive...in the form of a smaller bore through the backbox. HTH

The big power boys run a consistent bore regardless of 2.5" or 3" system so Scorpion isn't an option, or point of reference here. Especially since they don't go above a restricted 2.5" bore anyway...

i use a scorpion downpipe up untill the back of the sump then a magnex with a flexi from there back, reason for using a scorpion downpipe is that it gives more clearance around the starter than the magnex due to the shape of the downpipe.
