Default What would you do ??

Hey all.

I have come to the point now where i need to decide what to do with my car. basically i use it every day as a daily driver and it cost a bomb on flue and insurance, i want to get the car up and running with cossie management and a whole list of other parts as well as having the paint re done at getting the interior mint. the next load of parts I'm buying are a breather system, grs inter cooler and a Newman cam kit, its around 700 pound just for them parts alone.

so my question is should i take the car off the road and buy a different car until the erst is complete but i will have to buy the new car with the money i was going to use on the erst. or do i just keep the erst on the road and keep spending my money on it. unfortunately my work isn't very reliable and sometimes i don't have work for a few weeks so i don't have any clue when i can afford to spend money on it or when it would be finished.

thanks conor

I think the situation your in with work at the moment Conor, taking it off the road is the worst thing you can do. Just do little bits as you go.

Buy a £200 escort with long MOT and tax. Save money in a seperate account for the ERST. Once you've got some money saved go spend on the ERST and have it finished. THen sell escort shed and have a bit of extra money to boot

i had to admit defeat an realise i couldnt do wot i wanted to mine usin it as a daily driver plus i didnt really want it on road through winter so ive bought a tidy escort gti for £850 ive saved more than that in runnin and repair costs since it came off the road in aug, only downside is ive now spent far more an done much more than originally planned, but hopefully when its done ill be able to sell the gti for about wot i paid so free motorin over the winter, id def consider takin it off

i took mine off the road in february,to fit some bits that came with it,after investigating etc etc i found it needed lots more doing to it,plus the stuff i wanted to do anyway,so its still off the road now,im hoping it will be done for the summer. but at least it will be mint and rot free which is a plus

i crashed my project last year, out of sight out of mind, took me 13months to get it back on the road, i did have another daily though, but now the project is the daily.
just keep on top of it, when you have cash to do stuff, then go ahead.
however if it's killing you on fuel and insurance, get a cheaper daily.
