Default RST gearbox headache

Can anyone tell me what i could do to make my gearbox live longer? ive owned turbo for over a year and recently had to find a replacement box and it wasnt easy to find tho its still working fine in all the gears i am still paranoid that its goin to start makin that screechin noise again like the last one did before it shat itself it the town. That wos emmbarrasin. The car is only running around 170bhp which i reckond wosnt too much. Is there even an alternate gearbox i could make fit or shud i just carry on feelin guilty everytime i boot it?

Needs to be an RS2000 MTX box idealy. They are easier to fit. Give Jano a ring if your serious about doing it. 07984 071567. A section of chassis needs to be cut away and re welded also which Jano would do.

if you dont want to goto those sort of lengths then you could get your one rebuilt with bigger bearings and have the gearset shot peened and the diff refurbed or replaced for a atb diff that is stronger. also stop launching the carin first/second and that will give you good life. why dont you buy a spare box while yours is still running ok? have the spare rebuilt and toughened and then dont worry about the in he car giving up as you will know theres a new one waiting!
