The problem i have with all but ecu controlled boost is what if you have an engine issue ? high charge temps water temps etc ? they just continue to produce the boost you programmed in there is no safety factors much better if its from the ecu but then again its more expensive but protects the engine, mind you what ecu's lower the boost etc if there is an issue?my pectel boost control does but what others?valid point i think.

sorry tim got the wrong end of the stick lol, i respect what you are saying, but i think you would still be in the same boat without 1,also this would help the boost not to fluctuate, also i think if you fitted 1 to your car your times would get even better silly as it may sound, they are serious pieces of kit,i mean i dont like to say it but look at the japs most have controllers and do good times

just going off wot my mate has said but he bought base model one ms-ibc as at the time it had just been reduced- he said it was very easy to install and setup
The solenoid or whatever you call it looked pretty simple which just connects as you would a bleed valve then its just a case of a few wires for power and mounting it

I use a Greddy profec B Spec 2 controller, very basic to install and wire up and fairly easy to setup to once you've read the instructions. Most seem to do the job (electronic ones), i was recommended mine by an evo tuner of all things lol and he runs them in loads of big bhp cars so can't be all bad.

Go for a gizmo mate, the better one of the two, which costs about £200 does all you need, Dead easy to install, looks top stuff aswell. Can run external or internal gate off of it, you get scramble boost, over boost warning, 6 different boost memories, even a handy button which can control either the memories or the scramble. \

Nice bit of kit imo, simple and unobtrusive. Fitted it myself and set it up to start with, then had it tweaked by the guy who mapped the car (he uses them all the time so had his preferred way of setting it). Simple wiring, has it's own harness that you connect to the solenoid and two pipes to the solenoid from actuator and compresser housing, couldn't be easier! Seen those gizmo controllers, they obviously do the job too though the ones i've seen do look a bit cheap and tacky imo (not that it's got anything to do with how good they are mind lol).
