I run Magnecor leads (£70) with NGK BC8RES Plugs (£10), got the leads from Ebay and the plugs from Halfords.

Sorry but cant see how the standard ford leads or any standard leads would be better than a set of magnecor leads,?and standard plugs are better than uprated ones?
fitted magnecor leads and denso iridium plugs to my m8s mk2 golf gti and it was far better than before.
i asked a rally/motorsport guy with a tuning shop near me,who ued to race cosworths etc what plugs i should get for RST i asked if densos would be the best,he said yes but i wouldnt need to get that much of a spark so go for champions that they used to use when rallying.

I ordered a set of leads ans plugs today and a coil pack there was a miss sometimes on idle and low revs hope this sorts it. Jamie RST has a point but pat looks to have a high spec engine and is running standard plugs and leads?

Default Plugs

I had major problems with misfires.. looked a complete T**t at santapod few weeks ago cause car wouldnt boost..

Had uprated plugs and leads on and brand new coilpack but it still was there..

My engine was built by Ian H and he said himself to use standard leads and plugs 071c??

Put them in and it runs spot on..

no need to be sorry
its live CVH turbo head gaskets, "uprated" ones like felpro are crap,
but the standard one is spot on, same as the leads

yea have been told by passionford users that uprated ones are crap, and use the standard one.also been told if u want more than 1 bar of boost,u must have an uprated head gasket.so many different opinions around and could be a big joke so wen u try loadsa power through your cvh you blow it anyway.how can a metal headgasket be shit in comparison to a rubber one, metal is far stronger.FACT.
IMO most of passionford is clique to fcuk and if you dont style/mod your car like these guys do u get slated down to the ground,ur cars shit,u know nothing etc etc.
least its not as bad as RSOC though

I get loads of stick for having a onionbut I will still have my say, Ive spent 10 years playings with fords, doing conversions, tuning ect, I only give out info ive experianced myself
