rod bolts?
Hi all,
At what power and torque level do you need to change rod bolts on 1.6 cvh. I dont know my current bhp level. Have you any ideas?
1600cc block
EFI
Stage 3 head with power engineering cam
twin pass cooler
exhaust
t3 turbo

nick from fast ford was running 230 odd bhp in his s2 when his engine let go (got to say took him a long time tho) upon inspection he said it looked as if a rod bolt was to blame. i think they are fitted as pice of mined and only realy needed in high reving engines..........its all a gess tho alto im building a frst cvh at the minit and i will be fitting arp's just to be sure

i use ARP's , first motor is still in my garage with a 50mm hole in the side from a rod bolt which let go
ARP's just give you that little peace of mind , you wanna gable on a 6 quid bolt set keeping your coupla grand motor together?
