rebuild the 1.6cvh or go zvh
Started to stip out my s2 engine bay today and rebuild it.Thinking about which way to go.Is a 1.8 zvh worth it or shall i just rebuil the cvh.Im after a reliable 250 bhp.I will get some pics up tomorrow.Im still going to be running mfi changing to efi seems abit much. What would i need to reach 250 from the cvh cheers

A reliable 250bhp on MFI is very very very unlikely, if you manage it at all?! EFI is a must IMO if you want reliable power over 200bhp, i'm not saying it cant be done just thats it would be better if you didnt! lol

You could have your car setup every week and on the way home your 20-25 year old EMFPA, Metering Unit, FPR, Fuel Pump Wiring, MAP Sensor, Hall effect Sensor, and many many other things could fail causing detonation and you would only know because your left with a dead engine!
If he wants a reliable 250bhp then IMO EFI is the way to go, MS, Gotech, etc... somthing that doesnt rely on 20-25 year old parts, thats the main reason RS's are unreliable everything is soooo old, that and idiots turning their boost up!

If i were looking for that figure and sticking with the cvh i would go steel rods, forged pistons, balanced etc and some decent management then you will have a reliable engine which will cope with the power along with some decent electrics to take care of the fueling side.

the fact u say that changing to efi is a bit much leads me to beleive uve got champagne ideas and lemonade pockets, your going to need better brakes and a gearboix that can take the abuse not too mention the few Łk it will cost u to get a reliable 250bhp rs turbo, not to mention decent suspension set up to get the power down, and mfi will never be reliable with that much bhp, shall i go on
