Angry gutted !!!

just bin fitting my koni's to the front of my s2 , managed to remove the old shock and fit the new 1 easily enough , put my brakes and wheel bk on and lower the car to the ground so i could tighten the top nut , but as im tightening it the nut seems to slip on the thread of the strut next think there is shock oil pissing all over the floor !!! and just to make it worse the top nut wont undo now just spinng on the thread , so ive give up for 2nyt .
anybody know what damage ive done ? can it be fixed or do i have to buy a brand new shock ?

sounds like either the seals failed on the shocker or you've managed to unwind the piston from the thread inside the shocker, new 1 is the answer

When you tightned the nut did you use a small 8mm spanner to hold the innertube so that the tube did not spin?
