Default Head Gasket???

My head gasket has just blown and i was wondering if i should replace it with a genuine ford one or an upratted one. I have heard of ppl having had problems with upratted ones damaging the head. I only had mine done less than 10k ago using a genuine ford item and since i upped the boost it has blown so i guess it cant cope. What do you reccomend?

original ford mate.u cant get better IMHO,loads of my mates have used groupA headgaskets and they dont last long.christian majors 170mph rs turbo uses a standard ford headgasket and thats pushing 350bhp.
u must make sure its genuine ford tho mate.i bort one few years ago that was aparently genuine ford from local motor factors for 5quid!!!didnt bother with it.went to ford and paid 30quid for one

Genuine Ford mate. It's widely regarded to be the best. If your HG failed it failed for a reason other than raised boost, I would hazzard a guess incorrect set up.

It was form Woodford garage im 100% sure it was genuine Ford. I'll give the Ford one another go. Whats the Payen one cost and is worth using over the Ford one?

Payen make the gasket for Ford. If you had the two side-by-side you'd see!!

BUT, Payen DON'T make the sump gaskets for Ford and side-by-side, the Payen wins HANDS DOWN, no question about it.

it was more the fact you said IVE never had one let go ! how manny big power engines you built ?

p.s you ask christian if he has had a payen let go on him. there the best that you can get for the cvh but still not a great gasket thats why most cars come with mls gasket these days.

Will stick to the Ford head gasket even if the Payen one is the same. Genuine Ford parts speak for them selves. I dont wanna be havin to explain that a Payen one is the same as the Ford and someone thinking im bullshitting them when they are looking through the service history come sale day.

Thanks all for the advise though.

Which is fine in this instance because Payen and Ford are identical for Head Gaskets. However, as I mentioned earlier, if you were to stick to that philosophy with a Sump Gasket, you'd end up with a leaky sump.

Some friend you are, commenting on this old thread, but not having the decency to at least say a few words on my project thread.

Also, Beccy said 'Respondez, s'il vous plait', not sure what she is talking about though.
