god that does sound nasty.shame it came from sitech.if you could source a good engine im sure some of the scottish lads would help you put the engine in on a weekend for some bacon buttys and a few tins.save you money on the garage doing it,if i was closer(other end of country)id happily put new engine in for you.keep a look in the rs turbo bits for sale.just dont rush into buying it.

Please, I would like to clarify.

The car was bought from Simon Smail not Sitech Racing there was no mention of it been a Sitech vehicle. Sitech Racing does not trade vehicles.

The car was my daily drive that started and ran good every day, we dont know how the car was driven for those 200 miles?

Rab has not contacted me yet!!! I am a very approachable person.

I have offered to fix the car even though it was a private sale, road tested and inspected.

The engine has new oil pump, bearing, crank, cam and followers so dont know why his garage is saying they gone???

I in no way would put my companys name into disripute by selling a dodgy car, I think Rab and myself have just been unlucky!

Simon.

If you road tested it and were happy as you must have been to buy it, then he doesn't know what has happened to that engine in the mean time. He has offered to fix it - he doesnt have to its a private sale, but he has offered. I don't see how starting a thread like this helps anyone. Take up his offer which I think is more than generous. BTW I dont know him and have never met him, but from what I've seen on here and the mags he seems a nice enough guy - not a con man.

Simon Smail Has Just Called Me And Said That He Will Take The RS Turbo Away On Saturday And Do The Work That Needs Done To The RS Turbo To Get Her Running Fine.

I Should Not Have Jumped To Conclusions. I Should Have Called Simon The Day After For Help As He Said In His Last Post.

This Post Was Not Meant To Turn Out This Way It Was Just For Advice On What To Do For A Engine Rebuild. Names Shouldn't Have Been Brought Into It.

Thanks For Taking The Time To Do The Work On The Car Simon. Hope You Accept This Appology From Myself.

a take it you bought that s2 g800 cant remember the rest of the reg , no offence mate but that was a problem car and had endless faults including the turbo smoking its cunt in before it got sold to sitech so oviously never got changed it was also rotten in the boot floor at both sides of the strut turrets at the bottom , has it still got the big nasty looking weld round the turbo housing to ?

the last owner is registered on here look at his sig it says it all about the car
https://passionford.com/forum/members/44530-connollygt30.html

hope u get it sorted but imo its goni end up standing u a fortune and it was never even a four figure car to start with all the problems that were needing put right .

I think Simon for his work needs more than one pint, Any privet sale is at buyers risk really, RSTs are old and engines are not built proof, But for simon to even offer to fix it at his own cost is one hell of a guy! i offer him all the respect he should get because if it was someone else and you brought it from a tom dick and harry you would be having to fix it yourself, well done on saying sorry.

I never replyed to anything on here due to the fack it was getting heated and for members to comment on Simons Company(stich) was rather harsh in my view, so i think a sorry from them to,

An ERST will cost you alot to come over time, be ready for it mate. They brake, The get you worked up,

2300 would get you an OK rst, your buying at a risk, And if Simon had it for 4months and used it and not noticed any problems then it prove he wasnt lieing and proves by him offering to do you the work.

well Done guys on sorting your problems out off the bords.

Good luck on everything guys, i understand you would be pissed off if you had problems with it, they brake its not the end of the world there a ford.

Rabs car had pulled a rocker stud out, hense only running on three, the smoke was because the inlet valve was always closed so piston was drawing air and oil from sump and pumping it out the exhaust. Also the oil fill cap had compleatly lost it seal so was dumping oil everywhere.

I had this happen to one of my old heads, thought i'd blown the HG and when a got the rocker cover off No.1 exhaust rocker arm was laying there on it's side loose!
Turns out it forgotton to refit the little shim plate that the rocker arm sits on!
A helicoil later and all was well but it was an arse hole getting all the swarf out the head
