Default Cossie Wheels on a MK4?????

I've just bought an D reg escort cab 3i (soon to be a turbo), its abit of a scabriolet at the moment but i've pulled the wings off etc... and i'm in the process of doing a restoration + adding the new blown lump. I had the idea of putting escort cossie wheels on (doing the arch mods as i go along) but i've been told they will look proper shit, i wasn't on putting on rst arches & skirts on but been told if i dont it will jus look stupid.

Anyone got any pics with them on a MK4 (with or without arches)??????

P.S I know mondeo wheels are the same style but thinner but wanted summat slightly different cos thats been done to death around our end now.

Thanks

It`s not just the extra width, the offset is incorrect as well; 25mm for the Escos compared with 35mm for the mk4 Escort, meaning they will stick out 10mm more then they should, thats probably why you was told about the RST body kit.

even with rst kit they still stick out too much, they have to be machined for the perfect fit

but doing this means the inside edge of the wheel gets closer to the strut, or it could even rub on it.

its a bit of a catch 22

i had a set of esc cos rims on my s2 for a day or so, and my car is dropped about 60 to 80mm, with the arch lips rolled and the kit trimmed, and the rims didnt scrub. that was using 195 40 16 tyres, kind of stretched look, so looks good, and also keeps them clear of the arch. saying that, i dnt have back seats, so not sure how it wud react to back seat passengers in there

and as said above, machingin the mounting face does reduce the offset, but it does indeed pull it towards the struts, so fitting and measuring would be needed, but why bother if they can be made to fit pretty easily in their standard form
