i'll give you a straight answer, bin it! the best sound a dump valve can make!
i find mine better without it, had mine for 2 months in the end i took it off, the sound did my head in and it made my car look and sound like a barrymobile!

Get rid of it. My car never ran correct with it on.
After a little while the sound gets on your nerves

ok so you have been told its worth binning it, do you understand why you would get rid of it or keep it? Might be worth having a little search around here and see the technical pro's and cons..... I wouldn't do anything unless I fully understood the mechanical reasons for doing so..... otherwise you are just a sheep following the rest!

Dump valves do more than just make a noise. On some setups they are essential! Could be worth looking into it more, unfortunately thats where my knowledge of them stops!

you could try a recuirculating dump valve, does the same job but without the noise. However you will need to find out weather you actually need one or not with your car.

You don't want one on an MFI car.

I have always had one on my S2's the noise doesnt annoy me, and i dont care if people say they are shit or sound shit. My current S2 runs fine with it on, so it can stay on.

Each to there own !!!!

BOV's sound great but are no good on a MFI S2 as said, Baileys twin piston is the queerest sound to me in the world. Just picture a chavved WRX melting chocolate somewhere in his cylinders...

Personal choice unless you are running silly boost then you might need one to prolong the life of your turbo but for me they are a no no and mine runs a lot better without, not so jerky when you back off etc

I fully understand how most people dont like them, but i agree its 100% personnel choice, just like some people prefer marmite, some dont. I find mine runs fine with it on (im running a twin piston baileys). Why does it run better without one ??
