lets see your installs
I know it aint the done thing anymore as the need for speed has increased and added weight in the boot is frowned upon more nowadays.
I really like em and am wanting to make a more permanent fixture in my boot, got twin subs and an amp and just want it all to look alot neater, wondering if anyone has got a boot installation they could post a pic up of.
I am going to put everything in so it is easy to remove when i want to go to pod, track days, nurburg etc.
Got twin subs in there at the minute and it takes up pretty much the whole boot so i thought why not make it look better, I like my sounds for everyday driving but detest the weight when it comes to giving it some on the track lol, Just after a nice neat, tidy looking boot.
Any ideas would be awesome

Hi mate.......
This isn't a great picture by any means, but this is my install....
Nothing special, just a carpeted mdf base plate that sits in the boot well and had everything sat onto it....only draw back is that its is damn heavy!
Hope this helps!

i like the mdf floor idea but also think it looks smarter when the amps are underneath and there is just a hole to see the amp etc. im going to start work on it today and get some pics up to see what you guys think. it wont be much but itll be something lol

ok so i spent a few hours working on the boot today, im going to keep one sub and bin the other running one amp and just going for a nice clean look.
So i made the false floor and cut the hole for the amp, on monday im going to raise the floor, mount the amp, cover it in red alcantara type stuff (white car) and then work out where im going to put the 6 by 9's and connect the rear 8 inch components.
Im going to leave the parcel shelf standard so anybody looking in the car wont see my install. Its also going to be removable so it can come in and out when i want to race.
Im a little concerned about how the red will look, i know it will be a little max power but the car is white and my interior is black and red recaro's so it should be nice... its also not going to weigh me down as much as im only running one sub which is ample for my needs... it still is mega bassy which is what i want, just dont need two subs as ill get a headache lol.

sounds nice! Im tempted to go all out but I know less is more in this case, just sticking with single 12" and amp all looking standard ford fitment and fully removable, that is more important than anything! lol

oh brilliant mate thanks! I was concerned this post would get flamed as i know most people frown upon installs nowadays.. its what you like though and this way I get the best of both worlds... its tiring enough driving an s2 on long journeys what with the exhaust drone so i wanted to mix it up a little with a nice quality sounding and looking system that can be taken out in a few minutes.... but thats what i love about working on cars... the mould your own path type thing. I am however glad about seeing a lot less body kits on the road, just wonder what the next trend is going to be lol.
Are HUGE installs still very much popular amongst modifiers mate?

Yes mate...big installs are still out there...its still a very big scene...but the true die hard bassers or SQ people out there and starting to die down a touch...however, the people that are remaining...are now building systems that will blow you away...literally!!
everyone loves a nice sounding system...whether they admit to it or not lol! its just how far people want to go...
Im a BIG BIG bass man and love my music clean, defined, and very accurate no matter what the volume is...from stupidly loud, to just mellow chilled out listening...and my focus gets the balance just right! its taken alot of hard work and customisation but its been working it with how peoples jaws drop when they hear it
getting a system like that though does mean straying away from what you find in your everyday shops like halfords or the big internet stores much better can be had for similar money by the TRUE enthusiastic brands like Ascendant Audio, Tru Technology, CDT, Massive Audio, FI, Chord company etc etc

you got a demo of what you can do? Id love to drop by and have a chat... what sort of money are we talking to hook me up with a nice system and what would you recommend it consist of?

carl...yes the nemesis is a very powerful amp and its OOOOLLLLDDDDD SKOOOLLL!! however! and this is a BIG however! when you use it....make sure you power supply is up to scratch or you WILL blow the amp up! they are VERY prone to blowing up and giving up ghost if your cars electrical supply is not up to scratch and you are sending through lower than around 11.8v into it...it WILL eat itself
if you wanna let go, let me know as i might keep it in my 'old skool' collection' lol
blueskies, yes mate, the above pics are all my demo cars...the focus is up and running but the boot is in a state as the boot is undergoing a revamp with motorised amp racks etc etc...
some other cars;
roof flex from 1 AA Mayhem 12
sub in question

what are you looking to change? front components? amps? sub? etc etc
also what sort of music do you listen to? do you like your bass tight and punchy suited for dance, trance type music, or do you like low end wobbly stuff that suits hip hop, r+b etc

play more hip hop r and b, to be more specific cypress hill, alot of reggae but i also like listening to drum and bass, garage... so a large mix of b lines.
Yes mate, if im doing the system then ill change the lot, fronts, rears, sub and amp!

you can get an awesome sounding setup for Ł500...
run one set of components in the front doors or kicks
2 amps (one for sub and one for mids)
and a sub in a ported box (it will be alot bigger than a sealed box which is probably what you currently have, but the results will be worth it!)
jobs a good un!
