apart from the obvious bore size and sump design, what else is different? Can a 1.8 be bored to a 2.1 without any health risks to the block?

If £50 difference is that important to you on this kind of project then i'd give up now ![Surprised](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/bigcry.gif)
I suggest you stop plucking these specs out of your head (like in your other threads) and arguing it with people who know better as all you're doing is wasting peoples time.
You talk about 350bhp CVH's as if they're simple to do for the layman. You are having a laugh. And your comments on budgets are completely out of whack. Just because YOU have priced it up at XX pounds doesn't mean anything if you don't actually KNOW what is required. Stop deluding yourself.
I think the best advice is this.. calm down a bit and take a step back. You are getting completely ahead of yourself and in this minefield you will only step on a mine (and it will be costly!). Stop bombarding people with what YOU think will work (when you've never done it before) and perhaps ASK folk who HAVE done it what DOES work and how much IT DOES cost and then accept that (or at least confirm it's accurate). Otherwise pretty soon you'll just get everyones backs up.
This isn't a personal attack at you, it's just free advice. If you take heed of it, it may save you a lot in the future!
ps: the answer to your question in this thread is the blocks are very different to eachother and no, you wouldn't want to be boring it to "2.1" (which isn't 2.1 by the way if you're talking about 86.00mm pistons
)..
