Default Fuel Pump Relay Keep Blowing???

Alright all, got a problem with the S2. Here goes, the fuel pump relay keeps burning out, i`m going through one a month approx and this is the 3rd one to blow today Anybody got any ideas on what could be causing this or had this problem themselves as it`s staring to do my head right in????

is the pink block melted to?are the pins melting on the relay?

i snipped the block off and soldered new spades on mine,never had a problem after tht,bit extream tho,u can try making the connection better by squeezing the connection together more so it bites the relay more if ya get wht i mean?!lol

I`ll replace the spade connectors to be on safe side mate. Thanks for your help mate

either bad connection or your fuel pump has seen better days and is drawing too much current.

Is there a way to test if my fuel pump to see if its on its drawing too much current??

I`ve sorted the relay with new spade connections so, fingers crossed, it shouldn`t happen again. Can anybody tell me how to test the fuel pump is working right (ie not drawing too much current)??? Thanks again

need to get a multi meter on it,but im not sure how much it should be drawing!if it aint noisey thn i would say its ok

Cheers mate, it aint noisy so fingers crossed, if the relay burns out again i`ll get a new pump on and take it from there. Thanks again

if u change the pump its worth running a nice new cable to it,its the black wire with a strip in,normally purple,goes straight to the pump
