Rebuilding the bottom end. Whats the best way to prime a brand new pump?

i used to fill engine with oil pull out dizzy and use a drill for a minute or two and it would prime most places with oil,its better than just pulling the coil lead off and turning over especially if it a fresh bottom end.if it cvh you are doing i dont know if you can do that though

 

i just ran a good amount of oil through mine, fitted it then once the engine was back in i cranked it a bit to get oil pressure- started it up and its been fine so far- not sure if you need to do anymore than that tbh haz

 

Pack it with grease, that works well in getting the pump to pick up quickly in my experience.

 

vaseline , and crank with the main lead off until you get pressure
