my cam belt snapped bending a couple of valves and i need to get a new head but havnt got a clue what one to go for or where to get a half decent one im desparate to get my car back on the road im in london ive been told that burton are sh** power engineering did do them but not sure if thay still do i dont mind if its standard or modded just need my car back

If its just the valves that are bent, depending on whether the valve guides, valve seats, combustion chamber etc are ok, there is no reason why you shouldnt be able to just change the valves.

I think the last time i changed a set of RST valves they cost about 50 quid and just needed to be lapped in.

A lot cheaper than a new head methinks.

as above, look how many valves are damaged & replace them, the guides are normally ok (unless they were already worn)

I too have a head, with eyes, ears and a nose!

I agree, I did this on an old Orion CVH I had and it was fine after, the valves were around £12 each, add a head gasket, head bolts and new cambelt and you're away!

I also re-ground the valves in my XR2 when I fitted the cam, couldn't have been easier, just lap away untill the metal is a smooth dull grey on both the valve and the seat, without any black pits and Roberts your mothers brother!
