HELP HELP I'V GOT A MK4 RS TUBO WITH A S1 ENGINE WHEN I GO TO START IT .IT WONT START BECAUSE IT KEEPS FLOODING SO I HAVE TO KEEP TAKING THE PLUGS OUT DRY THEM OFF THEN IT WILL START. ANYONE GOT ANY ID WHAT IT COULD BE,ITS DOING MY BLOODY HEAD IN NOW.

Try disconnecting the cold start valve plug.

Also I think the mechanical injectors can start to leak when they get old, although I'd think you'd get only one or two damp plugs rather than all 4, if it was this.

Check the earth wire on the cold start valve (valve in middle of plenum underneath).
It closes by earthing the valve, so no earth means it can't close and will pump fuel in when you try to start and flood the engine.

Let us know if you find the problem.

i had a similar problem mate & mine had got to the point were i couldn't get it to start at all, flashpoint told me to disconnect the cold start valve as exeter said, then remove the spark plugs & crank it 4 20 seconds purgin the fuel outta the cylinders and after that it kicked up 1st time and runs purrfect. hope this helps

Just taking the injection fuse out and cranking for 5-10 s helps clear the cylinders.

Sounds like the plunger on your metering flap is stuck open. Had same problem on my car, it will start and then choke due to excessive fuel luckily i had a spare so just changed the metering head so am unsure how you clean them.
Word of advice if it is this change your oil when the car is running right as all that fuel ends up in the oil
