We use Graphogen on new cams. Put some on the cam-lobe and some on the base of the lifter. The car needs to NOT idle for the first 20 mins of its life. Alot of people make the mistake of running the cam in whilst sitting still. Drive the car, but just try not to let it idle. If you rev it to 2500 for 20 mins whilst not moving, chances are it will over-heat.

What if you're car first needs to go to a tuner? i probably won't be able to drive because it needs to be set up so i need to do it without moving?? or wont't it be a problem if i rev it to 2500 without set up?

I think will not do any harm if drive it on 3000 rpm just for cam run in, because you can drive it on higher rpm without boost

As above. You'll not be revving it above 3000rpm, so won't be a major problem if its not set up. As long as you haven't changed anything else that would seriously affect fuelling.

any rs turbo with a decent cooling system should not over heat standing still with the revs held at 3000rpm, the cam could be run in stages of five minutes.

There's the problem Sean, check out how many posts there have been on this forum alone about over-heating problems and you will know that MOST RS Turbo's do infact have an issue.

Why do it stationary anyway? There's no need, providing you have a quiet road to do it on.

but thats the problem christian i think many of as would do the work at home, where there is instant access to a quiet road, alot less hassle doing it stationary if you cant run your car at 3000rpm for twenty minutes then run the cam in stages also look to improve your cooling system because i know the standard rs rad is not man enough.
