Default and so the problems persist on this goddamm S1 **update**

ok so i sorted fuel problem

relay kept dropping out............checked the wiring and found a nearly severed wire in the fuse box which feeds pump, soldered in a new wire

car started and ran

and then a new problem reared its ugly head

ok , if its cold it will start and run happily and will run for about 15 to 20 mins....then the thing wont tick over nd dies and will not restart for half an hour....so i thought obviously fine on choke but dont like being hot

so any ways tonight i thought sod it, lets take it out....hoooon the crap out of it and get it hot....ran fine..(ran for about an hour, temp was perfect......then pulled up outside house, it sat ticking over lovely for 5 mins, then idle started going a little low and it stalled.......it would not start again, left it for 5 mins so its still hot, turned it over and it ran for another 20 mins then died

any ideas

??????

couple of things that could help......

have you tried

1. sitting in car stroking the steering and saying you will buy her something nice if she just starts and runs

2. if the above fails try hitting the steering wheel and saying that you gonna cut her uo in little pieces

this has worked for me in the past, you just have to do the old good cop bad cop routine

hope you get sorted dude

someone will know for sure

check the hoses that are behind the inlet manifold that go onto the auxillary air device. they are plastic pipes with sleeves on where the jubilee clips are.

i am thinking you may be right.......

as i have had it 2 weeka

it has had

headgasket
numerous water hoses
radiator
2 sets of plugs
set of leads
cap
dizzy oil seal
all 3 engine mounts
engine mount bracket welded
expansion tank (as i burst the other one when the head gasket let go)
numerous wiring faults

does anybody (like the fella that does the cossie ones) make new looms for these cars?

and if anybody has the workshop manual on cd, can you msn me it please as i need all the pressure data for the fuel system

the whole point of buying this car was knowing it had many faults.........once it is up and running correctly, i shall be stripping it and re-painting the shell to bring her back to her former glory

ok the car will now not start hot or semi cold unless you just touch the fuel distributor plate(does start when its stone cold though)..........as soon as you just touch it it fires into life, idles smoothly and runs perfectly, switch it off and it will not fire unless you just lightly touch plate

i have been right over this car for air leaks, sprayed easy start over the inlet system, servo, everywhere in fact just to see if i can find one.....and nothing

somebody has told me that cvh's are supposed to stall when you take the oil cap off.... mine runs a little rougher but does not stall !!!!!! is this right
