Default erst fuel prob

hi
need bit of advice with fueling please.
i've just put s2 lump in mk4 escort van but having probs getting fuel up to the injectors. If i take the fuel line off one of the injectors and turn ignition on so the pump kicks in should fuel be coming out of that line? or come's out when cranking?
I've got fuel to the metering head (mfi) but nothing going to the injectors any clues. Total novice so any info would be great.
Everything is brand new apart from metering head

Cheers
pete

take the air filter off so you can see the flap in the metering head. Then get someone to crank the engine over as you GENTLY push down on the flap. This should get the fuel up to the injectors!

If you take an injector out and crank it over you wont see any fuel anyway because theres a dirty great air leak where the injector should be......

bridge the fuel pump relay so the pump runs, push the flap and you should see fuel out of the injectors.

Still sat there..........roof slashed up, probably filling up with water.

Got higher prioritiies atm, plus the fact this summer ain't all its cracked up to be. HIGHLY likely i will either break it or put a 3i lump back in and just get rid of it
