Default ERST S2 Chips

As these cars are mfi is there much difference between ecu chips?
ie:Superchip, PTS, Ahmed Bayjoo etc

or do they all just remove the boost limit and provide a generic ignition/timing map?

Thanks.

I had a superchips in mine which was shite and then moved to a turbosystems chip which had limits and better fuel consumption

Hmm...

The reason i ask is that i did have a Superchips one in and have recently changed to a PTS chip (i think...says 'Esc White' on the chip) and the car seems slower used to spin the wheels up in 2nd and 3rd when hitting peek boost, and now doesnt at all!

Just wanted to know how different chips are actually different from each other!

i have 2 ecu's which have both of the chips you mention above, one
with p.t.s chip and one with superchip, i feel absolutely no
difference between the two but the superchip seems to make my car drink petrol like theres no tomorrow. my p.t.s chip has unlimited
boost but the superchip will only allow me to run 15psi.
p.t.s chips are normally labelled, p.t.s s2 rs turbo etc.
superchips normally just say superchip or have a blue "s".

My superchips one has a blue 'S' on it but the other chip just says 'Esc White' maybe its not a PTS chip then?

Anyone know what it is??

Superchips are in my experience a load of shite!! They use very 'safe' parameters, makin the car really lethargic off boost. They don't map the ignition, just the fuel, meaning they run the same ignition advance off boost as on boost. Ahmed Bayjoo and turbosystems map an ignition curve into the chip, and to be fair when i got a stage 3 ahmed chip for mine it transformed the car! Allowed around 18 degrees of advance off boost makin the car really snappy to drive off boost.

I think the chip is a power engineering chip and not a pts one.

I've got an ahmed chip in mine and when jamie at Jamsport set it up he had to wind that much ignition off the engine(retard the timing), just to stop it detting. I had the same problem on my last one and when i changed to a superchip, you could actually advance the timing and get decent power out of it.

Needless to say when it has the cam and intercooler upgrade over the winter, it'll be having a jamsport superchip fitted and get some decent figures from it.

Yes, I have experience with them and I must say it was not positive one in any manner and as such I am no longer a customer.
I have no interest in disclosing details of my experiences as this achieves nothing however I do live about five minutes away from them yet travel vast distances for work, products and services that they offer.

The reason for this is that I believe that if I experienced problems of any discription they would be less than helpful

So if I read it all correctly then everybody has some comments on the superchips and powerchips...

ahmed bayjoo chips seems to be the best chip?!

www.burtonpower.com are selling the bayjoo plug in chips. There artikelnumber is CHIPFRST.1

I have send an email to them and they replied its good up till 18psi. This seems enough for me. It is very expensive however...350 pounds !!

Is this worth the money???

motorsport developments sell an evo chip which you can fit
yourself very easily for £140, its the bollocks mate,
i have just bought one and it allows unlimited boost which
future proofs your car for any further mods you carry out.
forgot to mention, the chip is a buy it now item on ebay and i
promise you it works very well compared with the other chips
i have owned i.e. P.T.S and Superchip.
