LESS THAN A MONTH AFTER BEING SET UP I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM
ok anyone got any ideas on this one?
sometimes when i drive the car hard it pulls all the way to 18psi no problems, other times it seems like the boost limiter is kicking in, but between 10 and 14 psi? weird i know. what i would like to know is how the boost limiter works, what to expect it to do when trying to run more boost than a standard ecu will allow? ive never had a standard rs, they have all been chipped, other makes of turbocharged cars i have owned normally cut the ignition completely until boost drops, same as when you hit the rev limiter when driving hard. my rs doesnt do this, it just seems to hold back, let your foot of throttle and put it back down and it does it again but if you gently push throttle it will boost all the way to 18psi no problem.
if i adjust the actuator back to around 10-11 psi it is fine, but this doesnt really solve my problem, im happy to run round at this boost level but i would like to know why it is doing it in the first place.
