Default Fuel & starting issue

Right the fuel pump will prime. It will also run when the engine is running. However it will not run when the engine is turning over, until the engine is actually going(which takes numerous primes so that it turns on the key)
Any ideas?

Havent touched the wires so i can count them out as its randomly just done it. The relay casing has started to melt but i opened it up and the actual internals are mint. no burning/melting anywhere

Sounds like it could be current starvation.

Try bridging the pump so its runs constant and see if you get the same problem.

Does the engine turn over well or does it sound like its struggling?

Ok no luck with a new relay
The wiring from the fuel pump to just inside the car has been replaced with 27amp wire. I had just nabbed it from a mate to replace the crappy wire, didnt realise it was that thick. Would these be causing any problems? It doesnt run all the way up to the relay, just literally replacing the rotting wire that stopped pretty much as soon as it got to the interior of the car

Nah ive cracked all the pipes over and taken it for a 40 mile drive. Its fine once it moving and so any air is definitly out the system. Would it definitly be rich opposed to lean? (always get confused when it comes to misfires, lol)

it could be losing pressure when you switch off though

check to see if the pressure is being maintained in fuel line before you try and fix anything

I had a similar problem with mine. It turned out to be a faulty regulator at the end of the pump. The reason I found out was that it lodged and starved the engine of fuel. Pain in th arse!

apologies should have said non return valve which keeps the pressure after you turn the pump off.

Right its not holding pressure at all! and it loses it VERY VERY quickly. No leaks anywhere, ive checked the system ten times over now. Fooked accumulator?

So you've tried a new pump with a new one way valve and it still loses it?

No ive tried a new pump(which has a non return valve built into it iirc. I know there should be a non return valve on the actual fuel line yes? But i broke this off about two years ago and its run perfectly since Up until now anyway

no the one way valve screws into the end of the pump, thats what the banjo fitting screws onto on the pump.

What did you break off years ago then.....?

Oh,lol, i broke off one of those crappy plastic non return valves(like you get in the brake servo vac line) off one of the main fuel lines.
