Starting in the morning
when i try to start the car in the morning it will not start unless i press the throttle a few times but before it use to start on the first click of the key. also once it intially starts the idling is very poor/lumpy, after bout 10-15 seconds it sorts itself out to normal. this is not right IMO but i believe it may have something to do with the cold start valve? any ideas to what could be the cause?
when the engine is warm and switched of and then started up again its fine no problems only gives hassle in the mornings and its not even that cold now

Almost defo the cold start valve as previously stated. The cailbration normally runs this valve for cold start when the ambient air temp is below -5DegsC (Very rare in the UK). Th starting problems seen with this valve connected & not in use is caused due to the Cold start valve going faulty & leaking fuel at all times. Disconnect it & forget it! It will be fine!!

The cold start valve only operates when the engine is cold and the engine is being cranked.
As soon as the key is moved back from the cranking position it stops spraying. It's controlled by the thermo time switch which when it reaches a certain temperature stops the CSV's operation, and also has an unbuilt in heater to supposedly stop engine flooding if the starting process takes too long.
In the real world though the cold start valve always floods the engine and 99% of cars fitted with Bosch K/KE jetronic start noticeably better with it unplugged altogther
