Default Starting in the morning

when i try to start the car in the morning it will not start unless i press the throttle a few times but before it use to start on the first click of the key. also once it intially starts the idling is very poor/lumpy, after bout 10-15 seconds it sorts itself out to normal. this is not right IMO but i believe it may have something to do with the cold start valve? any ideas to what could be the cause?
when the engine is warm and switched of and then started up again its fine no problems only gives hassle in the mornings and its not even that cold now
