Default dip stick pipe coming out

hi what causes the dip stick pipe to pop out ? i know this could be back pressure but it still is a fairly fresh rebuild only 10,000 and this problem only started when i put the new stage 3 turbo on the car and a boy i know says this could be that the breather system on the rs is not the best and advised me to get say like a baillie oil seperator and this could solve the problem what do yous think ? any help would be sound

They breather system isn't too good, and it is a good idea to get a seperator as it does improve things. The other thing is that the seals on the dipstick wear - so buy a new one from ford.

they are about 80-120 quid. Auto Specialists, Bailey and Fusion do them.

It is probably the most useful bit of bling there is. They should be fitted in a certain way - which will probably go against any instructions (due to emissions laws) When you get one, get back in touch and can advise how to pipe it in

He he, to avoid the dipstick popping out on my XR2 the guy I bought it of fitted a spring that hooked through the hole and then the other end was held in place by a jubilee clip! Priceless!

Cleaning out the breather pipes can help to stop this, as they clog up with crap over the years!

Yeah, to help the car breath much better you can also remove the breather pipe from the metering head (not the one that connects to the amal valve! and block the hole with a dowel or something like that. If you let the pipe hang behind the engine (a cable tie or too does help) any oil that is running through the breather will just go under the car and also it helps the beather system work more efficiently.

You could also change the little filter at the top of the bay. Mine was clogge dwith crap and dirt and caused a number of probs.

I would have to disagree there and say it doesnt help it breath any better......because standard they continually suck the breather fumes into the inlet!

But certainly yes it does majorly help reduce oil gettin in the pipes!

mentalasanything

Have done that in the past mate!!!

Long time ago when it was all standard - did the trick, but it's just so much better not having all that oil being sucked into the inlet system.
