Default locking wheel nut issue!!!

Hi all,

the problem is I've lost the nut for the locking wheel bolt so I can't remove my S2 wheels from my erst as I want to put my RS7 spokes on!

Does anyone have any ideas on how to get them off. I don't want to 'easy out' them if I can help it... Is there anywhere I could get a nut that would fit? Ive tried Speedshack and they can't help.

Heres a pic of the offending bolt (in situ)

Cheers for any help offered.

If you're a member, try the AA or RAC, I believe they have the required tools !

Motorworld used to sell a tool called a gator grip. It was sold as a universal size socket and was made up inside of loads of little pins that moulded to the size/shape of the nut. But it was very usefull to wheel theives as it would fit into any locking wheelnut pattern

Dont know if you could get hold of one of those??

i had the exact same prob at the weekend. needed to get the wheel off and had no locking wheel nut. If you go somewhere like RSR or an alloy wheel saleplace they normally have a set of tools.

I had to call a mobile mechanic who had the snap on set cos my car is being rebuilt. Was like a socket he smashed over the nut and then as he undid the nut it bites in like a reverse thread and off it popped. took him 10mins to do all four and didnt even scratch the alloys

I did this on my old corsa, but I think that only works for bolts where the key protrudes from the bolt, his is countersunk

had this prob in october just gone on my S1.

we had to chisel the locking nut and fit a locking nut remover over the top.
took a while but got it off.

mine were the standard ford ones with the three pins that fit in the centre so they would have had the indents and also had a casing that spun round on the outside. only a suggestion at the end of the day!

Seems that smashing a socket on it is the tool that 90% of people use

Thanks to everyone for all the comments, really appreciated it!

Bigchez, I'm in Molesey, Surrey. SW London. Fairly near Kingston. You would be a lifesaver if I could borrow it! I'd return it straight away.
