Nothing wrong with T2's IMO I ran one for a while and thought it was a great Cam. I've also seen good results with other cars fitted with them over the years. Where the "they are shit" comments come from I dunno

The Kent CVH35Cam is a great cam.

Really all depends on the spec of the car.

knowledge = power when it comes to instaling & setting up cams IMO.

i have great respect for your knowledge but i guess i need to no a good cam to build good spec........and never forget you only get one chance to make the first impression!

ive had two t2 kits only seemed to last two months if i was lucky the tappets would stick and the cam would wear out ive been told this is because piper does not use new cams there are just reprofiled not 100% on that one tho

i had a piper in my erst and frst without any probs,but and its a BIG BUT,ive seen 2 cams on my mates car with less than 5k miles on each that were very badly worn(ones sporting your newman cam andy,oh and made 10bhp@wheels more at 1k less rpm),so much that they were scrap,also my mates is starting to get a little top end noise and it was a brand new piper put in it(guess what that will be)as a cam i think its a good one for top end power but there quality over the last couple of years has been poor,still ive had no probs with them but wont be going back to piper anyway

1. You need the full kit, no 2 ways about it

2. Get a CVH35, Piper cams for a CVH are rubbash

yeah i had that cam off you was still running good 8k after when i took it out

i think it just depends if you get a good one or a bad one same with the kent ones really

i'd say its more down to how well the engines been maintained and how much you rev the fuck out of it

Even standard cams are prone to wear, but my run about Orion is about to roll over onto 110k and its got its original cam, its tapping a little bit, but has done very well.............

Go with a Kent CVH35 or a Nemwan. Piper's 285T2 sacrifices everything in the midrange to give a small blip more at the top end.

Drive cars back to back with the 285T2 and then with the CVH35 and you won't be fitting the Piper offering.

Newman is the only cam that has managed to keep it's lobes in my engine. Much harder to fit and set up, but well worth it.

Piper and Kent are toilet.
