Anyone know the weight of a series 2 turbo?

I live in france, i don't know the word but on "my grey card" the weight is 980kg ~2150lbs

on the balance of the french MOT: 1007kg ~2215lbs

S2 RST:

- Carpets removed
- Sound deadening removed
- rear seats removed
- center console removed
- spare wheel and jack removed

--> 910 kg

i dont actually want sums ect just a ruff guide

for example: Say is 100kg less on a car about the same as having a extra 20bhp on a engine?

anyone one know realistic figures?

Well, let's just try it this way:

1000 kg/132 hp = 7,57 kg/hp
now 100 kg less:

900 kg/ 132 hp = 6,81 kg/hp
Now we can work out how much hp we need to achieve the same kg/hp with a car that weighs 1000 kg.

1000 kg / x hp = 6,81 kg/hp
x = 147 hp
So in that case saving 100 kg is about the same as having additional 15 hp.

A Nova GSI should weigh around 870 kg's.

The recent Subaru WRX (6-speed-gearbox) weighs 1495 kg, however you'll have to take away at least 75 kg's from that. There has been a EU law since the middle of the nineties which requires that they include the weight of the driver and some petrol in the tank in those figures.

What is the Astra MkII? We have different names for them here. Is it the one from the eighties aka Kadett E?
