Lost Boost
hi guys just wondering what this could be, as have put it down to a knackered actuator but also have another theory on a stuck wastegate but i have lost all boost.
Has been on and off for a month now where it was only boosting to .2/.3 bar, then it would suddenly come on boost.
I took it to FITP sunday (250 mile each way) and it was fine, but took it out for a run to town yesterday and after 6 miles lost all boost,
any ideas what this could be?
cheers fellas.
and whilst on the subject of actuators what do the numbers represent?
18, 22, 31 etc?

if u have no boost, the wastegate must be at least partly open. Sometimes they don't seat properly. Best taking the elbow off and having a look. The -18 etc are partnumbers - they have different lift off pressures.
I recently had the problem that my Standard S2 was only boosting 3 psi.
Then I checked all the common troublemakers
- actuator (length and spring)
- amal valve
- searched for air leaks
- etc.
But finally it turned out to be a faulty ECU. After changing it, it boosted 7 - 8 PSI again. Maybe the vacuum sensor in there was knackered.

Ive got same prob here got no boost at all and you can hear turbo is not even spinning think ive narrowed it down to the actuator rod being to slack but will find out if it sorts it out tomorow
with mine ive just had the turbo housing off as had a bolt snapp
when i put it back on think it was a little out to what it was before so the actuator rod is very lose but still connected so this is leaving the wastegate open all the time....well this is what i hope but will find out in morning

if it had suddenly stopped i would expect a snapped shaft yes, but its gone over a period of time, boosting, not boostin, crap boost then all of a sudden absolutely flying... so when i get time om gonna have to check the actuator,
