Default Oil and water mixing???

Having just rebuilt my S2 engine with all new components and bearing etc etc when running it had low oil pressure, so as I went to drain the oil out it was full of water. Been told by a mechanic friend its either a cracked block or possibly a cracked turbo housing thats allowing water into the sump, has anyone else experienced this, I don't think its the head gasket and the head itself was pressure checked before fitting, Any ides guys?????

Just checking.........but by oil cooler i meant the sandwich plate between the oil filter and block. Im not sure how to test, probably the only way is to remove and pressure test them.

If the engine is new i doubt its anything youve done, them oil coolers are very cheap and tacky at the end of the day.

Do a compression test first and check everything is ok there.

The actual block wasn't new it was the one that came with the car, I never even thought it could be cracked I just rebuilt it. I'll have to try and eliminate everthing else before I go and pull out the engine, its just kin annoying cos it was so nearly on the road. I did get to drive to the MOT station and back tho

Ahhhhh, oh dear If the block is unknown there could well be a crack.

Do a compression test, and also a PRESSURE test.

When you say pressure test, do you mean on the coolant side??

That wasn't what i meant no but you could always do that.

I mean pressure testing each cylinder, basically plugging in an air line and then you can listen/find leaks under high pressure. Good for finding valves leaking piston rings worn head gaskets gone etc
