The problem is i have just replaced my fuel metering unit on my S2 RST so went to start the car. It was truning over for a few seconds as the system was priming with fuel, then it stopped.
The fuel pump can still be heard priming when the ignition is switched on, but the starter does not turn. There are full electrics elsewhere in the vehicle, headlights, indicators etc.
I have looked under the dash and there are four relays
Pink/purple
Blue
Green
Grey
So which one is faulty or any other suggestions as to what it is??
I am getting to the point of insanity trying to get my car running, its been 2 years now and i have only done 50 miles.
Bought it with a fooked turbo, but found i have had to replace the piston rings, head gasket, clutch, dizzy, HT leads, brakes, fuel metering unit........then every time i think its gonna be ok......something else is either fooked or needs replaced.......
I need help before my sanity leaves me!!!!!

Its a bit dodgy but you could get the car in the air and bridge the main + to the solenoid wire with a screwdriver or similar and see if it cranks over, that will prove whether its the starter or not.
Do you have an alarm/immobiliser?
