Default Rs Turbo S2 Running Problems

Hi all,

Got my car running lovely all set up and ready to go. Nipped the head bolts up a bit more as per the haynes manual and now the car runs like a bag of s#*t. have checked all the pipes and made sure they arn't split r blocked. Timing checked and spot on. And set the distributor to the timing marks and still won't run right.

Have played around with the CO2 mixture to get it something like before so I figured it might of been something like that. Still nothing.

When I leave the car for an hour or so and try to start it. It runs great but as soon as it dies and you try to start it again it runs doggy.

Any ideas anyone.

Have spent loads of hours on this car trying to make it right and am stumped.

Cheers
Dave

Overfuellin normally causes bad hot startin. If it was blocked hoses it would have the same symptoms hot or cold. The fuel meterin unit on the rs is a pain and requires regular fiddlin with.it can alter one week to the next.

Oh and I forgot to say that if you set the dissy up to the 2 marks on the dissy/head then it may not be right either.you need a strobe light to get it bang on.Mine is way off the marks.

you don't need to retighten the head bolts at all, what did you tighten them up to when the head first went on?
do a compression check to confirm whats wrong, as unless you have missed a pipe off when u retightened the head bolts then the head will be coming off again as the head may have warped or the bolts have lost their tension possibly worse.
