just at my mates garage and we have checked number plates on his garage system, and basically, the chassis numbers do not go in order against the monte numbers, e.g number 50 ends in 789 and number 51 ends in 797( this is example to keep chassis number prvacy)
This kind of proves they were not numbered as they came of production line

I have 20 listed I know of one more in Malta that I may not have the number for. Plus there is the one thats in JV but not a Monte and there are a few others that are pictured in this thread but because of the age of some of the pictures and all the personal plates they have had over the years its hard to see whether they double up

An interesting sorry on a Jewel Violet has sufaced.. people have always talked about a Jewel Violet that had been written off and I found the details..
Started this week when a Jewel Violet bonnet popped up on ebay.. the seller was emailed to ask inregards to where it came from and this was the reply:-
What a unlucky car
I have pics thou!
The badge has been photoshoped off the grill.. cool pic thou
Going to add the car to the list as it number will probably never be found and we know it can't be duplicated

hi the car was originally stolen when virtually brand new and i bought the bare bodyshell in jewel violet so i built it up with a 500 bhp engine big brakes coil overs etc in 1994 and just kept it as a toy and tracked it a few times eventually got sick of the rough ride and started turning it back to standard and bought a caged shell for all the fast bits unfortunatly the new engine caught fire in the lakes and had to stand and watch it burn with a crowd of tourists for 20 mins before trumpton got to what was left ,in answer to your question i never found out what number it was as i only got the shell but the reg was M877HVP so you might already have it on your register will send a picture when i find one

Bumped into the owner of 008 today at Central day.. I originally found the this car parked up at Groves having a conversion.. and boy what a conversion it was!.. was very jealous
Its a Ahmed Bayjoo 'Ulitmate Road Spec' which is a 480bhp engine (eight injector WRC manifold, T4, Pectel T2 etc) Has the DPE gearbox like mine and Ahmed rear beam (hopefully my next purchase)
Really sorted car and really nice owner.. its only done 31k and Bruce is the 2nd owner

Hi Paul,
The picture was posted on:-
http://s6.invisionfree.com/NI_Fords/index.php?&&CODE=00
But it may be worth asking on the RSOCNI site :-
http://www.rsocni.co.uk/BB/
As far as i know the event was organized by members from there. May be fruitful asking if there are any other Monte's over here on this site as well.
Hopefully you find something!

Took me a while to get around to it but I have finally scanned the RSOC Rallye News artical on the Monte Carlo and no.000
Links so they don't resize and you can read them

Problem is there are some factual errors so it makes you wonder how much is true ie all Montes where Jewel Violet.
Still its a very interesting read

I've done some closer scans of no.000 and notice another difference
I had previously noticed that writing on the side and rear is Motorsport and not Monte. The oval Winkers. The deleted rear spoiler. and the fact the near wheels don't have ford badges on the centre caps and the offside wheels have no Centre caps and no writing either. The rear lights look tinted to me but again that could be the light.
What I hadn't noticed before and unless my eye deceive me the B-post's has a matt black sticker simular to the 16v XR2i's of the same era
