Default oil pressure gauge wiring plz help

i have a escort cossie which i'm doing loom work on but i cant remember how these wire up, the sender on the block has two wire coming off, i'm currently wiring this back in fresh, i seem to only have one wire at the gauge end of the old wiring,

is it a case of one wire on the sender goes to earth and the other direct to the gauge?

i'm still using standard gauges
cheers

hia, just been trying to make some sence of a wiring diagram ( would post it up but dont know how ) and what i can gather is that the brown and red wire coming from the sender goes to the gauge. now looking at the connecter on the gauge cluster, pin 6 of 6 (brown) is the earth for the oil press gauge itself, pin 3 of 6 (red and brown) is the feed from the sender and pin 5 (black and yellow) is the power source from fuse 27.
i can only asume the second wire on the sender is the earth. i'm no sparky so i hope this helps mate

ossie cossie your probably right. dom123 is your second wire brown and green? the diagram says that the oil press light wire is that colour . i hate the squiggly stuff, can never get my head round it.

ive turned the gauges on tonight and its stuck at over 5 bar so i'm guessing the second prong on the sender must be the oil light not an earth, does anyone know what colour wire on the back of the speedo cluster is the oil light?

please bare in mind i'm wiring this in fresh as i have cut out shit loads of cables out of car loom.
cheers

I looked at the wiring diagram and the brown/green wire goes from the oil pressure switch, through one of the 12 pin multiconnectors on the inner wing neer the coil to the oil pressure light in the dashboard. The other wire on the oil pressure switch, the brown/red one also goes through the 12 pin multiconnector to the oil pressure gauge.
However i can not tell you witch way around they fit on to the actual oil pressure switch. hope this helps?
