Default escort cossy front diff when bang( what diff do i buy)

hi there the front diff on the escort was making noises so decided to see what would happen so i launched it and just as i thought bang!!

i was expecting something to go as iam running a harvie gibs 431 bhp engine on standard cosworth diffs and gearbox and harvie said they would need upgraded

iam planing on doing this as they brake
so it looks like i need a front diff

my question is what options have i got
what diff will i go for that will handle the power

thanks
ian

ps. if anyone has a suitable diff for sale let me know

could try a standard diff and strengthening plate and see if that works and try and source a thick wall case in the mean time

Quaife isnt always the way forward, depends if you like the way the car drove on the open diff.

you can always have a front diff built stronger with uprated bearings, shot peened and polished CWP and stronger planets but within a thickwall casing!

Kelvs right even if you have a Quaife ATB it will still use a standard Ford CWP. So thick wall casing and strengthening plate and a shot peene polish of the CWP would be a good starting point

Grp N is probably as ive described above.

think Grp N has to be pretty much standard parts, but can be strengthened, so possibly a slightly modified casing or even a strengthening plate!

My front diff survived several hard lanches, until one day it decided to spit all the teeth it could thru the diff sump!!
and that was only a week after snapping the mainshaft in the gearbox

depends on how hard you launch i guess.
