Is there a thread about with pictures of just the underneath of your cosworths

Im doing a MK5 Escort RWD conversion and want to have a look at how the escort cosworth has coped with the 4x4 system so i have a good base point.

Loads of pics needed of underneath the engine, gearbox, and central prop shaft and rear axel set up

Any pictures will be most gratful

Why do esc cos have oil drips/flicks on the exhaust down pipe just behind the front anti roll bar looking at those pics its not just mine then....where does it come from the last thing i want once ive done the underside and wrapped the exhaust is more oil on it

I'm sure its oil from the rear crankshaft oil seal that splashes back onto the exhaust as the car's moving.

mine always looks like its grease/oil off the prop thats got hot and run along it - my saph was the same. mine also has a slight oil leak near the front so the oil sort of runs back along the sump then splashes onto the exhaust when the car is moving.

its from the front crank oil seal martin, mine does it as well,very,very common problem if yours does it i should have a new oil seal fitted,problem is they never seem to be 100 per cent even when new ive never owned a cossie that didnt leak from there and ive had 5 prob be better if you run the sump guard still as it may help stop the oil being blown around so much
