s2 wont start, help needed

Default s2 wont start, help needed

my s2 has been running pretty badly the last few weeks so have be trying to sort the problem, took the dizzy off to give it a clean, put everything back how i found it but it now wont start, have cheaked and double cheaked but still nothing. its priming and sparking but wont go. its now cold, dark and snowing and i'm out of ideas.

any one got any ideas??

What exactly did you unplug/take off? did you touch the ignition timing at all (distributor position)? It might be likely you havent put the plug leads on in the correct order so it may not fire up, and if it does it will be lumpy.

i had to take the whole thing off as one of the wires in that little black switch thing ontop of the dizzy had some how snaped off and i had to solder it back on. like i said i've put it all back together exactly as i found it with all the leads in correctly and still nothing.

That sensor "Hall sensor" can be a cunt, if it's moved about it can play up and the car wont start., it needs to be fixed to the dizzy, usually the wee clips break and you need to put a cable tie round it to hold it against the dizzy.

reckon u could be right there chap, just dont know weather to go try now (its dark and frezzing cold) or in the morning before work (will be dark and cold then too)

if you need it for work, then get the big jacket and a spot lamp on it and try it jusnow, if not then do it imorn mate it's baltic outside!

mine was like that i put a cable tie on it lasted for about 2 month's then the dizzy died if it's f**ked id say get a new one A.S.A.P dont cable tie it as it will probley die when your mile's from anywhere (mine did )

was that the sensor or the dizzy

how much is a new one?? i'm inclined to replace it then i can rule it out in the feature

just got a text from my dad saying hes got it running again something about the plugs being soaked with fuel which was the only avenue we hadn't looked at yet.
