Default 2 wheel drive bikes...

Has anyone been on one?? Only seen it used on moto x bikes as yet but it looks quite funky!! Not sure if its just at prototype stage....

yamaha have been devoloping the system with olins ( suspension gurus ) for around 4 years now and seems to be very suscessfl on the wr 400 4t bikes , yamaha are currently devolping 3 bike our there range to incorporate the syaytem , the fjr 1300 sports tourer , the xjr muscle bibe and the devoloped the system ofr the r6 , im sure mcn ran a feature on it last year or 2003

id rather have the one and leave dirrrty great darkies everywhere !!!

Ron Haslem used to race a 2wd Bike in the late 80's joint effort between Elf and Honda if memory serves me...

I remember seeing one in the early/mid 1980s in an american motocross magazine. I'm sure it was a yamaha YZ250 and the company which developed it were called something like sunshine racing.

would be a good thing for quite a few reasons 1 the front wheel is the giro for when doing a wheelie it keeps it stood up straight and a driven wheel would make this safer 2 way more accelaration abillity because the usual amount of rubber that does the pushing is just over 1" and 3 it wauld make cornering much faster and safer because what usualy hapens is when you banc the bike too far it tends to push the front wheel too hard and wash out with would nt happen half as easy because the driven wheel wauld pull it round the corner and 4 the off road capabuility would be great with increased grip for climbing hills

It was a hub centre steered bike that Ron Haslam rode for ELF but not 2wd.

aye thats right cam mate , the took the design for the roy britten bike if im not mistaken , the guy was a genius !!


yamaha even produced a road going tourer with hub senterd steering

but i cant think of the name

also bimota produdec the tesi with hub centerd steering
