i presume by fitting a switch that's activated by the gearstick being in the neutral position, if it's not in neutral and activating the switch then car won't start.

but how funny if your local bad boy clicks his buttons and sends it flying into a wall

On a cliford auto start u need to get out the car running and let it close the car and turn the engine off then u can auto start if u open the car it would not auto start.

You must have long arms to do that from the comfort of your warm house

Thanks for that Alan!! Yes, very embarrasing

Sadly it isn't a M3, it's a 328 with all the M goodies, but it could have been expensive regardless

I didn't plan on breaking it that quickly

Rich you are such an old man sometimes Just because modern technology doesn't require a cranking handle, doesn't mean it isn't any good!

Besides, I think it's designed for those frosty mornings so you can warm it up before you leave the house - no need to drive to work in your slippers Rich!

Remote-start on a Clifford has the added bonus of monitoring the battery-condition......if the battery-level gets too low, it will start the car to charge the battery through the alternator (or so the manual says, anyway).

yep exactly so no chance of this happening (unless a squirel climbs in through the heater vents and sticks the car in gear or something )

Didn't think Intellistart was sposed to be fitted on manual cars?

I find starting the car on the drive and popping back in for a brew works fine. Don't mind the sudden chill as it wakes me up

That makes sense now as I wondered why he asked how many discs I had in the computer - he thought it was a '3M'

That happened to me on my 325 convertible.

the alarm fitters have wired something up wrong and apparently it's an easy mistake to make. take it to an alarm fitters and get them to sort it mate, it shouldn't be wired up like that.
