Default Whys my Stack Rev counter reading double then !!!!

My Stack counter reads way over what it should , double maybe , ive been told to say the cars on P8 and coilpacks ! Whats the crack with that then !

can you select the amount of cylinders on your stack? if so try 8

Thats what i done with mine,mines dizzyless and 2 ignition modules. You may have to try it on 2 cylinder also

could bring a laptop, and make use of the pectel logging facilities to see what the car is doing

2 coils = wasted spark

ie two sparks per 180 degrees


set it to 8 cyl and everything should be fine

nope it should be on 2 cylinders,, as the coil pick-up for the tacho is only off one side of the coil pack, so it misses two counts every rotation

With a coil pack tacho should be 2 cylinder....

Dont do this dave I have already tried it, when you turn the lights on its obvious its not a factory setup

Cheers for the replies, Reckon it needs setting for a 2 cylinder, wonder if this can be done on a ST400 - surely ??
Also Ryan the Boost gauge should sit at 1 bar , so i think weve got a problem with the wiring somewhere ! saw Scottys today and he put me straight !

Only one part number is now listed for the Escort rev counter, so no good .

Will the ST rev counter defo work ok?? Did they not simply work round it within the EEC-IV ECU??
