Default HELP! UPDATE: FUEL THERE, STILL NO GO!

Okay, was driving today, coming back from town, was coming along in 3rd gear with a bit of boost, about 10psi, no more, and the dump valve makes this almighty dump, that didn't sound right, and just complete loss of power.

After this, is was making this sound as if it dropped a valve, and was just wanting to cut out, along with a screaming noise from turbo, but no smoke from it.
It stalled but i had enough momentum to get in 2nd and bump start, after which i managed to crawl to a bus stop, and make a call to get towed.

While getting towed, i bump started it again, this time it started but i had no pedal control, sounded normal, no scream from turbo either!
i let it come back down to idle which it then just cut out.
Bumped it again while under tow, and this time i had throttle control, but it would only go up to 4k rpm, and sound as though misfiring (but no popping out of exhaust), again i let it come back down to idle for it to cut out.

Back on my drive, tried to get it to turn over, wont. i have checked fuel lines, all is well up until the metering head, checked the line into it, fine, fuel there, however, there is no fuel coming out of the injector lines, i would assume when you go to turn car over, fuel pump primes, fuel should come through those and go to injectors?!

What solutions, if any, can anyone offer?
I have been on ebay and bid on a metering head.

My dad said that the screaming noise i head is that of neat air going through the turbo, is this right? the shaft now has a tiny bit of play in it, but not masses (more or less 1mm of play).

Any ideas?

thanks!

Is the dump valve fu*ked (it should be f*cked into the bin anyhows )???Sounds like you have a massive air leak to me,loads of unmetered air getting into the engine, thats why it wont idle or indeed start.Regards Micky

you will only get fuel out of the injector lines if you push the flap down in the metering head as you crank it over.

Okay, pushed flap down, fuel going through, but there is this whining noise, not from fuel pump, but from somewhere in the area of the metering unit, its like a screaming noise.. happens when flap is down, and happens at the exact same time the fuel pump primes, so its as if fuel is coming from pump, gets to this "bit" and this bit screams, but i dont think its the metering head..
am i making any sense?

Answers on a postcard please

could be the accumulator, or the pressure regulator.

also worth changing the fuel filter

Also know as EMFPR, it's the black box on the back right of metering head, one with connector on it

Accumulator, left rear of metering head on bracket

Okay, update, checked all the fuel lines, replaced the emfpr, checked ALL the injectors (tested by having them spray in a clear bottle), and there is definately fuel getting to the engine.
And it STILL wont fire up.
Changed plugs, leads, rotor arm and distributor, still no joy.
Getting spark from plugs too!

Person that had it from me before had a vacuum outlet welded onto the inlet manifold, so my dad got a bottle of gas, and put that onto it (he has done the same with his van to coax it into firing), and yet it STILL refuses to fire up.
There is compression in the cylinder, i dont know how much though.

Now, could i have blown a hole in the pistons?
Could it be a weak spark from coil?

Any ideas, or has anyone come across this before?

never mind now, went and got compression tester from Halfrauds, in firing order 1-3-4-2 2 has been buggered
Dont know if its the ring or the piston itself, but never mind!

I have been trying to get a spark with mine for about 2 weeks now, fed a wire from the ignition to pin 13 on the ECU, same one that goes to the coil. and now i have a spark

new dizzy can be sillymoney, i priced one up this week, £110 from motor factors, £150 from fords.

shame i just havent got any fuel now lol, between us, our engines would run.... you have the fuel, i have the spark

maybe the fuel goes through when the injectors are off(coz there not under the same pressure load out the engine),and the impeller on your fuel pump has slipped ,so it still wizzes up,just not enough to push the fuel through a sealed line! thats wot mine done

have u done any headwork?, even like a follower change?, sounds silly but check all the little plates what go on after the rockers arms are there, as this will cause no compression
