why is it ?????


thinking the syncro might be fooked in fifth gear

happened once but i had to slow down, change to forth for a bit then back in fifth and its not done it since

anyone got any ideas ?????

 

Mine does it in third some times

 

the selector in the end of the box is shafted- I have a box sitting down the side of my house that does it.

You might get away with adjusting it- I replaced mine and it fucked it again after a while.

 

what causes it out of interest ????

i dont drive it hard and the guy who owned it before drives like a mini cab driver

 

I think its all starvation at the end of the box that causes em to over heat and fuck up.

 

ok it maybe a bit low on oil, was ment to put some in n friday at work but i forgot

oh and it happened after doing 110 to 120 on m1 for about 20 mins, seemed to be a bumpy road too ( after junction 28 when it gets quiet )

 

Also another possible cause could be shagged linkages or shagged engine mounts.

HAnds on the plenum and rock the engine front to back to see how bad they are- shouldn't move a massive amount.

The reason they get all starvation is because its a bit bolted on the end of a 4 speed box- Fords cheapo 5 speed money saving

 

it aint the mounts, deffo as i would hav poped a drive shaft the way i rag the fooker through the gears

the linkage it what i was thinking but it feels tight and nice, not slopy like most escorts


fooking cars, why cant they be driven hard and not fook up
