I would like to retract my comments about Dipsticks Garage, Hermon Hill, Woodford.

The differences between Dipsticks and my father are being amicably resolved.

The comments were inappropriate and I apologize to the Management and staff at Dipsticks for any distress caused.

 

I on the other hand called a mobile mechanic to regas our saab, Ł50 in notes later, it was all done and well chilly in there

 

Are just letting this go past or will you go down there and let them know aboout it?

 

I'd be down there kicking off BIG time! it's a hard one to call if you go down and kick seven shades of black stuff out of em or tell the police....

 

I'd be going absolutely mental at them. Tell them you will take it to Mercedes and will have the things rectified at their cost. If they give any grief report them to trading standards and to the police. They used the vehicle without your consent.

 

My dad is going down there tomorrow to confront em about it. My dad has a right temper, I was worried when he found out about the tyre

 

Stu - I know the place! Done a screen on a Beemer down there for em - seems somehow whilsts regassing the air con on it they managed to hit the screen with something, hard enough to make it look like a brick-like object had been thrown at it

Cash job as well, no insurance or anything and it had to be done THAT weekend aswell while they had BEFORE the custom came to collect it Sound dodgy to you aswell? I thought so..... Whats the betting they never even TOLD the customer anything about the screen

I know dipsticks very well and have been there time and time again. Had my mondeo regased there only a few weeks ago with not a single problem as usual.

And trust me Im a fussy fucker about who touches and works on my cars. I'd be here backing you up if i'd experienced anything like the service your dad claims.

Perhaps there is a resonable explanation for what happened to your dads car, and perhaps after your dads spoken to them they could well come to an acceptable resolution - mistakes, accidents and misunderstandings do happen!

Would be interesting to hear the outcome after yours dads actually spoken to them.

 

Well, im sure theres a reasonable explanation for whats happened. I personally know the guy and the garage and i will no way be biased in my opinion. Havent even spoken to mate about this, but im sure they know how to take a tyre off dont you...

So maybe they was looking at the manual for something else, which isnt such a crime. !!

Now i have taken my ESCORT COSSIE for a number of things to this garage and everytime i have got sopt on work. Now do you think i would take an Escort Cossie to a bunch of cowboys. I also have my car booked in next week for more work.

Theres is a simple conclusion to this. If you are that unstaified with the services, then take your custome elsewhere!!!!!!!!!

Why would you take a Rad Fan off for a Re Gas ??????????
Its a simple case of putting the gauges on the 2 valves (hi + Low pressure) to check for leaks then topping up with the good ole R134A and a recipt to show how much gas has been put in.

I have been to garages that have fucked up before and they TOLD me what happened and showed me told me what they replaced. Just sticking on a cheap tyre on a car, leaving it in a mess and the other things they did with absoluely no explination is just inexcusable. I mean what do they think? Quick cover it up and he wont notice? or maybe we will notice and fly off the handle and jump to conclusions.

Since buying that car my dad takes it to one place, and that was Merc. He has never done any DIY work on the car other than to clean.

I can't wait to find out what my pops says this afternoon when I get back.

tyre got a slight cut in it when the car was pulled of the ramp.the contis that supposedly (brand new) you cant get any more so we put (a brand new tyre on not part worn ) have spoken to his dad and i am still tyring to get a new continental from europe as we speak i have spoken to his dad this morning and he said he will get him to appologise,so as to his father coming down he is once again lieing so far we have got the date the part worn tyre and useing the car the hand book this said boy needs to get a life

 

No will admit I did lie about the dates, it was a couple of weeks back he did it, and I have been trying to get my father to complain, but he being a very busy man, dont really have much time to do it.

 

Right just had a call from my mother and father about this, and we have talked about it.

First off they have said that the garage owner and my dad have now come to an arrangement so thats sorted.

and I got a ticking off for jumping the gun and blabbing before the situation could be resolved properly.

But all in all, I'm in the dog house but all is sorted.

So I will finishs off by saying sorry to the guys at Dipsticks, as it seem it was related to just one employee who does not work there anymore and not really their fault, but they are now working to solve the problem

I just think you should have maybe curbed your anger for a day, then maybe replied in a more pidlomatic manor... ie, no caps lock gives the impression of aggression... nodoy wants to take their car or car parts somewhere where they may feel intimidated by staff... which is the impression i get from your reply... i dont mean to cause offence.. just trying to give you a clients perspective.
