Ford Focus 2.0 TDCI 2010 No Start. Only Quick Start

Default Ford Focus 2.0 TDCI 2010 No Start. Only Quick Start

Hi everyone,



I'm stuck at a brick wall and I wanted to know if anyone could point me in the right direction. I have a ford focus 2.0 tdci that I recently bought as a no starter. The car only starts on quick start, once quick start is sprayed into the intake the car will run. I've driven it around and left it idling for some time. When i turn the ignition off, it cranks but does not start until I use quick start. I'm not a machinic but I've learnt a bit over the years trying to fix my own problems, any help/guidance will be appreciated.

EGR Sensor A Circuit High

Electrical connectors not fully engaged

Wiring Harness Short to Battery or Short to Ground

Check for continuity shorts to ground and battery positive.

Inspect connectors for signs of damage, water ingress, corrosion, etc.

Faulty or damaged PCM.

This DTC may be caused by :

Short circuit in wiring or component.

Check for a stuck or sticking EGR actuator.

EGR valve assembly

If the EGR actuator has been renewed initiate the EGR component parameter reset.

If the EGR actuator has been renewed initiate the EGR component parameter reset.

Diagnostic Trouble Code details

Exhaust Gas Recirculation Throttle Control Circuit Low

This DTC may be caused by :

Air Shut Off Throttle

throttle valve stuck

EVR circuit fault

Wiring Harness Open Circuit

Short circuit in wiring or component.

Check the following:

Vacuum supply leakage / restriction

Disconnect the vacuum pipe from the component and, using a suitable length of vacuum hose, connect a hand-held vacuum pump to the component.

Steadily apply a vacuum while observing the operation of the linkage. Make sure that it moves smoothly to the limit of its travel and that it returns to its original position when the vacuum is released. If the linkage does not move or fails to operate over its entire range, suspect the component.

Signal circuit shorted to VBATT.

Short to VREF.

Incorrect VREF.

Sensor Previously disconnected.

Check for MAF related DTCs.

Check the wiring and the appropriate fuse.

High resistance in wiring

Additional Information

The ABS lamp should be illuminated.

The ESP lamp should be illuminated.

Diagnostic Trouble Code details

Right Front Wheel Speed Sensor Input Circuit Failure

Sensor or module replacement must only be carried out after the following checks are performed.

Check the connector for damage or contamination.

Check for an open circuit in the wiring harness.

The sensor was previously disconnected, check the sensor connector.

Check for a short circuit to the ground or battery.

Check that the supply voltage to the ECU is approximately 12 volts with the ignition in position II.

Disconnect the sensor. Check that the supply voltage at the sensor connector wiring harness is approximately 12 volts, with the ignition in position II.

If there is no voltage the possible fault is the main wiring harness, connector or ECU module.

Sensor replacement must only be carried out after the following checks are performed.

After clearing the DTC, the vehicle must be driven above 20kph (13 mph), during normal driving conditions, to extinguish the ABS lamp.

Additional Information

The ABS lamp should be illuminated.

The ESP lamp should be illuminated.

There will be an ESP malfunction warning displayed on the driver information text panel.
