Fault code P0171

Default Fault code P0171

Hi ALL, can any one tell me what I need to put right this fault? This is on a ford focus 2002 thanks Paul.

That fault code is a lambda sensor. If you google the code you should get plenty of info. You might just need a lambda sensor.

It's more than likely that there's nothing wrong with the oxygen sensor.
Usually this means that the engine is not getting enough fuel.
Common causes are an air leak on the intake side, a deteriorating airmass sensor, low fuel pressure. If the car is using a lot more fuel than normal it could be an air leak in the exhaust manifold or a defective/slow oxygen sensor.
