Owned this from 1993, What was my pride and joy, never seen the road since 2001. Two year Resto and I hate this thing with a Passion.
Now leaking from the input to the oil pressure thing. Jacked up for the third time, forgot about the new garage door (3k), chipped the bonnet I'd just got resprayed.
Paid near 300 quid for what I thought was an agreed value of 20K and they now need photos, don't agree then market value which is probably about a third of a car with 10K of upgrades.
Be very glad to see the back of it. Also alternator fan has eaten two pair of silicone hoses. Need a shorter belt but gone are the days you can just go and pick one of the rack
in a service station. Soon as it's gone, Honda Import from Japan and a Porsche and goodbye Fix or Repair Daily, lost any love for these things.
Rebuilding the original 50K engine, dipstick 3 inches out and won't budge to come out or go back in. Two years of grief, up the Hill can of petrol might be the best option,

The sump gaskets can be a pig, but your title and paragraph don't seem to match up. The oil pressure outlet obviously isn't anything to do with the sump - I've also never seen one leak on a CVH, so either the threads are shagged (on sender or block) or its just not tight enough, which can happen as it sometimes does feel like you're gonna crack the block.

If your sump gasket is actually leaking too, then are you using the multi-piece rubber/cork setup, or the one piece all rubber gasket? Original sumps I've managed to get both to work as long as the sump hasn't been overtightened and bent previously. I've never managed to get the multi-piece to work on aftermarket sumps, so tend to just grab a one piece. Trick is to glue the end half moons to the sump (just a drop) and that will keep it all in place when you line it back up and torque it. These sumps don't tolerate overtightening very well and then you'll inevitably get leaks as the bolt surfaces are all crooked rather than flat.
Oh and please don't just slap tonnes of gasket sealer on it - the gasket will just slide out of place and you'll end up finding most of it in your pick up pipe next time you drop the sump!

The main piece into the block is fine, it's the sender that screws into the top of that that's leaking. Removing thias, there appears to be a pin hole in
the top where the connector plugs on, meant to be there or is this my problem, no idea.
