Default Mondeo duratec engine into Mk6 Escort

Hi all , complete noob here, need help.

I have MK6 Escort and would like to put Mondeo 2.0 engine in it.

I can get 2003 Mondeo as donor for 500 euros.
The thing is it has 300k km on it. Is it worth it, or should i look for a car with a less km.

Also since i am a complete nooob, i would appritiate any help or guide on how to do it. If some one has done it and has a link or description it would be most helpful.

Thank you in advance

The best advice is: don't do it!

Agreed^^
Its far from the most difficult conversion out there, but its still a fair old thing to tackle. And if you have to ask others whether a 300km engine is suitable or not suggests you're not going to get too far when it comes to the actual mechanical work (no offence intended - we all started somewhere!!)

If you are truly wanting to do a conversion, then start with a 2.0 Silvertop (Zetec), again from a Mondeo but earlier marks. Its the easiest conversion known to man, is dirt cheap to do, and is documented thousands of times over the internet. Its a nice little gain especially if you chuck some cams/decent manifolds etc on at the same time.

Thank you for replay and for advice. I know 300 000 is a lot , but then again i have seen those engines with 500 000 km, hence my question. From what I have read on internet , duratec is much better for tuning (putting turbo etc.) , for "endgame" so to say. I have looked for zetec's from focus and mondeo , but it is quite difficult to find one with decent mileage. As you said ,I have to start somewhere and I have great willingnes to learn. I would perfere if it was duratec , but i am also opened to suggestions . A list of what has to be done , or maby if there is link to some other forum where it's allready explained. Srry for my english, not a native speaker.

Altho yeah you can turbo them v6 duratec engines a one with 300.00km on will be tired to start with.. not unless you plan on full rebuild with new pistons over bore etc i wouldnt bother really... to get it into escort you will need to cut front pannel away aswell to get it in there

Thank you for this information. I was thinking of 2.0 ,not V6. From my understanding V6 in escort wold not be good option because V6 is too heavy and would cause handling isssues. I am also opened to option of full rebuild. As i statded earlier , all the focuses and mondeos from 90's have well over 250 000 km ( at least the ones I found ). Last night I found 2 Mondeos from 2004(duratec) with 180000 /190000 km and they where cheaper then the ones with zetec (300 k km). So from my point of view it seems that full engine rebuild is unavodiable. Then again my knowlege is limited , so I will try to listen to people who have more experi3nce . Any further advice?
