I can't help with the fitting but
I do know a thing or two about the oem engine management side of things.

I havnt done the Mondeo duratec yet but I have done most of the other four pots.

I am working on the focus Rs ecu at the moment.

When done I share all the pin out info.

If you have the full Mondeo loom from a 2.0 manual I may be up for lending a hand.

I did buy one to pull to bits but ended up using it as my daily until I've got somthing better sorted.

Tbh the fitting I'll be able to work out I haven't got a escort to put it in yet but the mondeo sat on my drive atm it's just something I was looking into as a project for fun like I've worked on other cars but not done anything project wise with a Ford, but i think wiring would be the only thing that would trouble me. Just trying to get as much information as possible before I go ahead and start something I can't finish lol

I did look into using duratec into my mk6 escort but it was the problem of the inlet being on front which started my change of plan back to a zetec. Looking at the exhaust manifold for the duratec I was pretty sure it wouldn't clear the subframe and then getting a gearbox to match as well as the zetec has the starter on the back as upposed the duratec on the front matched with the cable clutch aswell

I did wonder about the exhaust manifold but I think some clever manufacturing would solve that as for the gearbox I read somewhere u can use the mondeos gearbox mtx75 I think it's called and u have to change the hubs to suit the driveshafts but that's as far as I got I haven't found one that's been done yet and think it would be a good challenge just still gathering bits and pieces of information from where I can before I proceed with buying a shell to put the lump in

The 2.2 is a diesel engine, are you sure that's what you want to put in an escort?

If you want something really different but still ford then the st220 hasn't been done yet into an escort ( that i know off ).
I've done the pin outs but I am still busy with the rwd zetec turbo. Simple remap for 250bhp, It's going to be rwd as well.

There are a couple of 2.5 v6's into fiestas so it's got to be doable.

I love a zetec but it's done to death but an st170 on throttle bodies would be best bang for buck.

If you have deep pockets then its the eco boost.

Pin outs are the information on what every pin coming into and out off the ecu is and does allowing you to take it from the donor and run it in a project. Anything from a boat to a plank of wood.

So you can run an engine on the factory map at very little cost. St170 or zetec for a tenner plus your time. Or say omex or megasquirt plus loom plus mapping. Circa £1500.

The trade of is power against cost.

Turbo zetec on Focus Rs engine management.

Rwd St170

And I've done several others.

I don't think a mk2 Mondeo sub frame is going to be much use for what your doing, why do you want to use it?

Well thought I could mod it to house the st engine with running gear I would need to measure current escort width hub to hub along with Mondeo

The st engine doesn’t mount to the subframe. It hangs of the inner wing/ chassis legs either end with a gearbox brace to stop it rocking.
